Preview InDesign content in the simulator or on a device

    You can preview the result of your interactive InDesign content either in the iOS simulator (on macOS only) or in the Twixl Viewer Classic app running on an iOS or Android device on your Wifi network.

    1. Preview from the macOS app

    Selecting Preview in the macOS app presents a popup sheet similar to the list sheet in InDesign.

    2. Troubleshooting

    In order to test whether there are any network issues, go to your browser and enter the following URL: 

    http://[IP address of tablet device]:53652/
    Click to copy

    e.g.

    http://192.168.1.10:53652/
    Click to copy

    You should get a result with the device type and the Twixl Viewer version number like:

    IMPORTANT NOTE:

    If a soft- or hardware firewall is active on your network, and you seem to be unable to send a preview to a device, make sure to ask the network administrator to open TCP ports 53652 & 53654. 

    3. Where to download the Twixl Viewer Classic

    Viewer Classic
    • Twixl Viewer Classic for iOS (iPads & iPhones) is available for download from the App Store.
    • Twixl Viewer Classic for Android (tablets and phones) is available from Google Play.
    • A download link is available directly from the Twixl Publisher plug-in window as well.
