App Settings

Twixl Support Team Updated: - Created :

In App Settings, you can define general settings that are valid for your entire app.

Via Platform > Menu > Bottom: App Settings

    • Application Name: This is the name of the app project on the Twixl platform. This is not the name that will be used to show to your app users.
    • Bundle Identifier:  This should be a reverse DNS name like com.twixlmedia.appname - only lowercase characters, numbers and dots can be used.
    • App key*: This is a unique identifier of your project that has been given to your Twixl project automatically. It will be asked when you contact Twixl Support.
    • Storage Type*: By default, this will be Twixl Storage.
    • Storage Region*: This is the primary region where your storage will be hosted and this is selected by the region of where your account was signed.
    • Application Icon: You can add an application icon to make it easier to identify your project in the project list on the Twixl platform. This icon is not shown to your app users.

The fields marked with * cannot be changed once attributed.

    • Application Title: You can enter a free title here.
    • Support e-mail: When users report a problem, their message will be send to this e-mail address.

A mobile app privacy policy informs users about your data collection practices, disclosing how your app gathers, stores, and uses personal information (if applicable). Privacy policies for mobile apps should be accessible at all times and can be found in the app via the gear icon.

    • Button Title: The title of the button users can click to view your privacy policy.
    • URL: Add the link to your online privacy policy here.
    • Supported orientations (Android only): Set the orientations you intend to support for Android tablets and phones. On iOS, orientation changes are handled automatically, and also support using your app in Split View on iPad.
    • Prompt for App Store Rating: Prompts the user to rate your app in the App Store.
    • Blur snapshot in iOS and Android app switcher: If you enable this option, potentially sensitive information in the app switcher screen will automatically be blurred.
    • Keep All Data Offline: With this option enabled, an app will be forced to download all available content when starting up for the first time. See this article for more info.
    • Sharing on Social Media: When allowing sharing on social media, users can share articles. For more info, see this article.
    • Encrypt PDF Files: Enables on-the-fly encryption for PDF content items. That way, PDF files are protected on mobile devices (most relevant on 'open' systems like Android).
    • Save reading position in PDF files: allows the user to return to the last visited page in the PDF.
    • Externally Managed Content: Enable this when you have an external system that manages the content. This puts the content items and collections of your app in read-only mode on the Twixl Distribution Platform. For more info, see this article.
    • Metered access: Allows you to upload free preview items that users can check for free before they purchase the item. Once this feature is enabled, it cannot be disabled.
    • Allow Users to access this Application: Here you can define which other users can access this app. More info about Managing Users can be found here.
