iOS app build types

Twixl Support Team Updated: - Created :

Depending on the type of build you want to create, you'll use one of four types of distribution provisioning profiles

Different provisioning profiles for different build types

In order to create any type of build, the build settings for your app must contain the relevant Bundle Identifier.

    1. Development build

When using Twixl Publisher, a development build is going to be required only when testing push notifications in an App Store Kiosk app.

    ABOUT THE APP KEY:

This type always requires a Development App Key on the Twixl Distribution Platform and in your Build Setting.

    2. Ad Hoc build

iOS Developers enrolled in the standard iOS Developer program have the opportunity to distribute their application outside of the App Store on up to 100 different devices. Use the Ad Hoc Bundle ID in your Build Setting to distribute a build of your app internally.

    ABOUT THE APP KEY:

This type always requires a Production App Key on the Twixl Distribution Platform and in your Build Setting.

    3. Enterprise build

iOS Developers enrolled in the iOS Developer Enterprise program have the opportunity to distribute their application outside of the App Store and without the 100 devices limit. Use the Enterprise Bundle ID in your Build Setting to distribute a build of your app internally.

    ABOUT THE APP KEY:

This type always requires a Production App Key on the Twixl Distribution Platform and in your Build Setting.

    4. App Store build

Use the "App Store" Bundle ID in your Build Setting to distribute a build that you will be submitting to the App Store.

    ABOUT THE APP KEY:

This type always requires a Production App Key on the Twixl Distribution Platform and in your Build Setting.
