Deploying the Web Reader

Twixl Support Team Updated: - Created :

Starting from Twixl Publisher 12.0, we no longer support the Web Reader. This means we no longer provide new features, bug-fixes or support. If you still need to create Web Reader exports for your InDesign publications, you can always download an older version of Twixl Publisher here. You may also want to check out the Browser Client, that provides the complete article-based app experience in the browser

    1. Create the "Web Reader" Export

First create the web reader export that will then generate a set of HTML files.

    2. Put files on web server

Place the set of files generated by the export on any type of web server.

If your location is /issues/issue32/ then navigating to http://[domain.com]/issues/issue32 should display the index page of your publication.

    3. Paywall

The "Web Reader" export always creates a single-issue publication. If you have specific requirements with e.g. restricted access for subscribers, or if you want to create your own store for desktop and notebook users, then you can use an authentication page or put your publications behind a paywall.
